Parks and Trails
Ypsilanti parks and trails are the perfect place to visit with your puppy. We recommend visiting Frog Island Park or LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve to start. For a longer route, trek along the Border-to-Border Trail that connects surrounding destinations including Chelsea, Dexter, and Ann Arbor. Rolling Hills County Park is a great spot to visit year-round, and on the very last day of the water park season, dogs are invited to play and swim at the park!
Pups and Patios
Ypsi restaurants in Depot Town provide spacious patios, like Tex-Mex favorite, Maiz, and Southern-inspired Thompson & Co., allowing your furry friend to join your party for an outdoor meal. Enjoy dinner with a scenic Depot Town view at Aubree’s Pizzeria. Some restaurants like the historic Sidetrack Bar & Grill even have a designated doggie menu. After dinner, grab a local brew on the 734 Brewing Company patio. Another option is to take your dog for a drive to Bill’s Drive-In. A win-win! Pick up from an area food truck or cafe and head to a nearby park for lunch outdoors. There are plenty of options to choose from.
Sweet Treat
Whether you want to spoil your best friend, or you’re treating the family to a delicious dessert, you’ll want to visit Ice Cream Time, serving doggie treats in various sizes. Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea across from Eastern Michigan University also provides a tasty treat made with pure whipping cream and vanilla. Tail wags guaranteed!
Self-Guided Tours
History buffs love visiting Ypsilanti for its walkable neighborhoods with beautiful architecture of various styles. Download a historic neighborhood map and take your doggo for a stroll while enjoying your self-guided tour.
