Charity Hope Valentine is a taxi dancer at a New York City dance hall with a dating
history that’s rocky at best. Yet even after a string of terrible dates with even worse men,
Charity’s ceaseless optimism keeps her hoping and dreaming for love. One day, Charity meets
a bashful man named Oscar when they are trapped in an elevator together, and they promptly
begin dating. Will this finally be the relationship Charity has been looking for?
Sweet Charity is based on an original screenplay by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinelli and
